Ceiling fans provide a myriad of benefits when installed correctly and used in the right applications. Ceiling fans can:
Save Energy
Since cooler air is circulated more efficiently with the use of ceiling fans it gives you the ability to turn the thermostat up a few degrees. By doing this you put less burden on your AC Unit while drawing less energy to distribute cooler air in your home or business. This means less money spent on your energy bill each month without sacrificing your comfort.
Works All Season
During the summertime, the cool breeze from your fan helps to circulate conditioned air. While in the winter your ceiling fan can help heated air that often collects near the ceiling be pushed and dispersed down by reversing the fan direction. Thus, keeping your home or business more comfortable no matter what time of the year we are here in Austin.
Add More Light
Having overhead lighting helps cast more illumination throughout the room than does a typical desk or table lamp. Using a ceiling fan that has a light fixture combination allows you to distribute more lighting into a room while reducing the need or use of multiple lamps. This provides better lighting from the single source cast from your ceiling fan light and helps create energy efficiency that will also keep your energy cost down.
Enhance the Décor
Because ceiling fans come in many styles, sizes, material types, blade numbers, and lighting configurations this provides you with a wide selection to choose from for your home or business. This gives you the flexibility to find the right ceiling fan style and function to fit your vision for your living room, dining room, bedroom, porch, or other areas of your property.
Fan Replacement and Installation in Round Rock and throughout Williamson County, TX
Ceiling Fan Installation
In most cases, the type of room you are interested in installing a ceiling fan will dictate how your fan will be installed. If your room does not have a connection for one, do not fret! We can create one for you with very minimal effort and in no time. A ceiling fan electrical box requires a special bracing that attaches to the ceiling joists. And because most fans are lightweight (typically 20 pounds or less) this will not put any strain on the joists when it is installed. Our expert ceiling fan electricians can help you with the entire project, which includes running electrical wiring, installing the ceiling fan mounting box, and installing the ceiling fan.
Outdoor Ceiling Fans
Outdoor ceiling fans are great for keeping outdoor areas like your back patio in your home or outdoor dining space at restaurants to keep your family or customers cool and comfortable. This is especially necessary when we reach summer, when the sun can be unforgiving and the heat unbearable here in Round Rock and throughout Williamson County, TX.
Outdoor Ceiling Fans are often either damp-rated or wet-rated.
Wet-Rated Ceiling Fans

Wet-rated ceiling fans are the most durable of the two, which means they can tolerate direct rain and heavy wind. They can operate efficiently and safely without any direct protection against the weather. Because these fans are protected with sealing and ABS plastic their wires do not short out due to moisture.
Damp-Rated Ceiling Fans

Damp-rated ceiling fans are not designed for direct exposure to rainwater but are safe to operate in humid areas. They are often best suited for use in covered exterior spaces as a patio or garage. These fans have their motors protected by a non-corrosive cover and the interior wiring is insulated to protect them from humidity that would otherwise cause them to short out.
Ceiling Fan Mounting Options
There are several ceiling fan mounting options available to choose from, each designed to optimize air circulation while fitting proportionally into the space where they are installed. Regulations require fans to be installed at least 7 feet up from the floor to protect people from injury (unless you are Shaq or another 7+ foot tall NBA Star then you may want to consider a hugger or close-to-ceiling fan). Here are the top four ceiling fan mounting options:
Ceiling Fans with Downrods
Generally found in rooms accompanied with high or vaulted ceilings, Downrod Ceiling Fans are the best fit for this type of setup. This is an ideal configuration for large rooms, expansive entryways, lofts, and other larger areas with noticeably taller ceilings.
Close-to-Ceiling Fans
Close-to-Ceiling Fans are often used when a Downrod of no more than 3 to 5 inches is installed in between the ceiling and the fan’s motor housing. The added space between the ceiling fan and ceiling allows for more air circulation and fan efficiency while maintaining a relatively close-to-ceiling distance to stay out of the way of traffic in and out of the space where it is installed. These types of mounting options are good for rooms where the ceiling-to-floor height is roughly 9 feet.
Hugger Ceiling Fans
This type of flush mount ceiling fan is ideal for homes or commercial spaces where you have low ceilings that are 8 feet or shorter. With a hugger ceiling fan type of setup, there is generally no space between the ceiling fan’s motor housing and the ceiling. This makes it an ideal choice for smaller urban spaces like apartments, condos, or other more confined living or workspace.
Ceiling Fans on Sloped Ceilings
Whenever you have a ceiling that is vaulted or has any type of an incline, a ceiling fan with a sloped ceiling adapter would be your best option. The adapter allows your fan’s base to be installed at an angle, but the downrod to hang straight. Because not all fans are sloped-ceiling adaptable, it is important to have our expert ceiling fan electricians to help you identify the right ceiling fan options that will accommodate these types of installation needs.
